Episode 328

Waiting for You to Lead

If you look back at documentaries about the punk rock movement from the 70s and 80s, you can hear that there was a lot of frustration in the youth. On some level they knew that the system was broken, but they didn’t necessarily know what to do about it, so they stayed silent.

Then a song came or some bold speaker stood up and said “I don’t believe in this; there must be something better!” Very quickly all of those silent people came to life, inspired by the uncommon words.

Perhaps many people are waiting for you to stand up and speak your truth, to say what’s truly in your heart, your vision for something new.

What will happen if you speak?

Welcome beautiful thinkers, this is how your life is already wonderful.

I was just thinking about, thinking of the concept of waiting for you to lead. There’s that episode of Rick and Morty.

Maybe you know Rick and Morty some call it the best show ever created but a mix of intellectual humor and party humor. It’s kind of something for everyone.

There’s that episode where Morty is kind of trapped with a bunch of interpersonal versions of himself. And they’re all talking about the fact that there is one true Morty. Like the idea that one day somebody would arrive, a Morty would arrive to get them out of a problem they’d gotten themselves into.

And Morty says “What is this? I don’t know what this is.” He throws their thing aside and says “Look, we’re in a difficult situation, we are not stupid, we can get out of this.” And they figure out a way.

It’s not like in a sense it’s like nothing particularly special about Morty in this situation. The only thing is he has a little more courage than other Mortys. He’s just willing to stand up and say this is nonsense, there is a problem with this.

And he has the faith to say we can do something about this, we can get out of this, we can have a better life.

And the willingness to act on it is all it took to get out of that prison, that very difficult situation that they were in.

I think in a lot of cases that is all it takes for many of us. And I have heard people say like, like people from punk rock music movements in the 70s and 80s there was a similar thing they would say it takes one person to stand up.

One band to make that song that will inspire others to say this is nonsense, I don’t believe in this. There’s gotta be something better and let’s try to aim for that.

All of the sudden, all the people who were silent, one of them a second one gets up and says “You were right I was just waiting for someone to say it.”

There must be thousands or millions of people out there just waiting for an example of how to move forward, of how to stand up.

People out there waiting for you to move forward in loving power to find that special part of yourself that everyone has inside and animate it. Bring it to life and let it speak, let it act, let it move, let it lead.

Move forward in loving power to inspire all of those people who are waiting for you to lead.
