A Woman’s Voice with Flo Perlin

by | Oct 2, 2020 | interviews, podcast | 0 comments

Flo Perlin is a singer-songwriter from London who has been playing music since she was 4 years old, and writing music since she was 10. If you listen to her hauntingly beautiful songs might evoke a tear of sweet sadness or joy.

In this interview, Flo talks about how she found her voice as a woman, going through counselling and therapy from a young age due to an illness in the family, entering the conservatory as a cellist and dealing with the environment of machismo and intense competitiveness, leaving to travel the world as a busker, seeking a healthy balance of boundaries in her romantic relationships, and finding a sacred space of vulnerability in her friendships.

Kurt asks what advice she would give to her 20 year old self. Flo says assertively, “You don’t have to shout to be heard.”
