Centered in Your Being
Throughout our day, our attention might wander thousands of times, and sometimes it will start to get wrapped up in an emotion – be it pleasurable or painful. In those moments, we can calmly bring our awareness back to our center, noticing what is in our solar plexus and sacrum.
These distractions may come in many forms – anger, irritation, frustration, sexual desire or even romantic love. It is important to emphasise that pleasure and pain can equally serve to draw us away from our center.
When we pay close attention, we might even notice the feeling of imbalance that occurs when our mind tips over into an emotion or idea.
Are you balanced right now?

Let’s talk about centeredness in your being. Being centered in your being.
I was just lying on my bed reading this science fiction novel my friend Kenny recommended to me and I was enjoying it.
And something popped into my mind, some kind of distraction something that got me a bit excited but agitated in this case. Just as well it could have been some intrusive thought that might make me a little annoyed.
I was just thinking about a beautiful woman I saw in a bar last night and I started to get this emotional reaction and I thought, I’m gonna take a deep breath, relax and bring myself back to the present moment. Bring myself back to my body where I am right now especially in the depths of my belly and solar plexus and the sacrum, behind the belly button where we do have these repositories of spiritual energy.
At least if you believe what they say they have all this energy and all this power and we can retain it within ourselves staying in control of our emotions. Bringing them back gently and peacefully reigning them in and taking a deep breath and focusing on ourselves and what’s inside of us exercising that presence, that mindfulness and that bodily awareness.
Being with ourselves in this moment with our bodies. This is a technique, resource that you can use at any moment in your life if things are starting to get a little unusual. If you do have some intense emotions whether they be positive or negative, may be valuable to return.
Notice perhaps notice the emotions themselves. Notice that calm presence that is still within you at the base of all this. Still waiting for you to be aware of what is within.
Thank you for being present in your daily life and thank you for especially being present when things do start to get a little unusual, unexpected or intense.
Thank you for retaining that centeredness of your being.
