Look Good Feel Good

When a person is depressed, it’s common for them to take less care of their personal appearance. They might not feel motivated to brush their hair or choose a nice outfit.

This can be part of a negative spiral. When we take less care of our appearance, the world might not look upon us so fondly.

Conversely, a person who doesn’t feel 100% can begin to change their mood by starting to adjust how they look, boosting their confidence and their spirits.

Welcome, beautiful thinkers, let’s talk about “look good, feel good.”

There’s this book. I don’t think I ever read it. But some people mentioned some techniques, or some ideas from this book. It’s called Keys to the Game by Neil Strauss.

So you know, it was that first book, he wrote about trying to learn how to pick up women, or how to meet women, which was called “The Game”. And then later he wrote the keys to the game, which is like this practical guide on how to understand yourself or understand how your interactions with others go.

And in this book, he described this exercise where you would not shower for a week and not shave for a week. He is talking about men, obviously, and then on that seventh or eighth day, you go to the barber, get a haircut and a shave, and you buy some some new shoes, a new suit or a new shot, put it on, and see how you feel, or walk around town and notice that feeling.

And of course, somebody is going to feel good, and especially because of the days line that they had for that week, feeling kinda dirty and grubby. And just looking average, or not even average looking extremely below average, looking like a slob, but basically, and then suddenly transform into the Superman.

And it’s going to have an effect on on your feelings. Because you know, you get that new haircut feeling. And it’s kind of kind of funny, like, I remember I would discuss this with my buddy age, and we talk about the new haircut feeling you’re going to new haircut and suddenly feel like, “Oh, you can take on the world. You look better than than you have in months”.

And age would say, “Well, what if you could have that feeling all the time? What if? What if?” And it can be a little tricky to do I mean, I tried it then. But maybe that pure part of ourselves that’s always willing to shine.

And then maybe we can also help them along. By taking care of our appearance, by taking a little, a little bit of pride. Not too much pride in the right sense of the word, in taking care of things, taking care of details, not in the sense of excessive identification. So we can change things, things about ourselves, we can change how we present ourselves to the world.

And yes, the world will respond differently. We will also respond differently, because we know we are sending a message to our souls, then yes, we are important. There is something vital in inside of us, that deserves to be happy, deserves to be joyful and deserves to be taken care of.

My friend Luis Fernando always reminds me or many times reminds me in interviews, that one of the key lessons of Tantra is that every aspect of our lives deserve success, that we can have success of beauty and magic in every aspect of our lives.

Of course a lot of people relate Tantra to sex, but that’s just one aspect of the philosophy.

And that’s a key thing like sex is about pleasure, and about beauty and about expression.

And all of these elements come into all of our lives as well, the way we present ourselves, the way we own money, the way we interact with others.

We can have wonderful things in all of these aspects of our lives.

One of the ways you can express itself is when we look good, and feel good.

So thank you for taking a little time and effort in your appearance, to present yourself in a fine way to the world.

So the world sees you in your majesty.
