Overwhelmed by the Beauty of this World
In an extract from his journal, lucid dreamer Robert Waggoner writes:
‘At this point, I truly become overwhelmed by the beauty and love in this lucid dream. I stand up and everyone looks my way. I say, ‘When I awake in physical reality as Robert Waggoner born on January 28 in Kansas, sometimes the snow and cold of physical reality can get me down. But when I am here in this reality’ — my voice starts to get emotional — ‘ I am overwhelmed by the Enormous Beauty of this World.’”
Most of us can relate to the idea of the snow and cold of physical reality getting us down. Can you relate to the idea of being overwhelmed by the Enormous Beauty of this World?

So I’ve been reading this book. I’d like to talk about this book, Robert Waggoner in this book says “overwhelmed by the enormous beauty of this world.”
This book is called Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self in which Robert Waggoner describes a lot of the potential of lucid dreaming and dreaming in general.
Even getting into ideas which seem a bit too out there like telepathic dreaming or mutual dreaming. Meaning people you know in physical reality and finding them in a dream and communicating with them.
At the end of the book I arrived at today, he describes this dream he had, a lucid dream which it seems in a sense it was part of the inspiration for the book.
He describes being on a neighborhood street with bunch of children and people, they’re all singing. In some moment he notices they’re singing the same thing over and over and in that moment it occurs to him, I am dreaming.
They all applaud and say “Its wonderful that you became conscious, here to be more present with us and they sing a chant together.”
Robert start noticing the people around them and what they’re wearing. Asian women in these delicate dresses and he pulls out his dream journal to sketch one of them. The music they’re playing and while he’s trying to get down the mouth of this woman he just becomes overwhelmed and says “this is wonderful, simply wonderful. The whole thing is wonderful”
And he continues the last part of the dream report he says “at this point I truly become overwhelmed by the beauty contained in this lucid dream.”
“I stand up and everyone looks my way. I say when I awake in physical reality as Robert Wagner. Sometimes the snow of physical reality can get me down but when I am here in this reality my voice gets emotional. I am overwhelmed by the enormous beauty of this world.”
I think a lot of us can relate to what Robert said about the cold ans snow of physical reality. Feeling like we’re unable to notice there might be something good about the situation we are in feeling bogged down, stuck, impotent.
How many of us can relate to that other feeling? The feeling of being overwhelmed by the enormous beauty of this world.
I know that feeling, I’ve felt it. Maybe I will feel it again. Maybe I am feeling a little like that in this moment.
When we look around us noticing the shapes, colors, lines in our view. Outlines in shadows.
What’s going on?
Maybe it’s been a long time since we’ve noticed these things. Maybe when you were 3 or 4 years old. Everything was fresh and we were just beginning to form memories.
What is it like to be a child? Look at them, they are absorbing everything. They are wide eyed. Everything is new to them just like when you walk into a new town. Taking a walk in the greater Guadalajara area, you see the brightly colored banners in the street from day of the dead so we can remember the dead and remember those watching over us.
How wonderful to see those bright colors out there and celebrate life overwhelmed with the beauty of the world
Thank you for listening, thank you for noticing the overwhelming beauty of this world in every possible moment.
