Those Good Morning Folks

I was just thinking about good morning folks.

I’m not talking like “Good morning folks” but folks who identify with the phrase good morning. There was this meme that went around in Spanish years ago, I haven’t seen it in awhile.

It’s like a poem and it went something like “Im one of those good morning people. I’m one of those good afternoon, good day, good evening people. I’m one of those thank you people. Im one of those that’s very kind of you people”

You get where I’m going with this.

Nice to meet you, how do you do and all these things and all these nice little phrases we can use to make our day go a little easier and of course we always have the opportunity to imbue with our own prayers, force, power and delight.

What if we do say “Good Morning?”

What if it is really like a good morning? Good morning to you sir.

The other night a few months back I was in a bar with my friend Anthony and some other friends and my friend Beto came over and introduced his friend, I can’t remember her name.

I didn’t shake her hand or kiss her cheek and Anthony said “that is the rudest thing I’ve ever seen you do.”

I said “Thats cause I already introduced myself like five minutes ago when I came in.

You just didn’t see me do it.

Anthony said “that’s the rudest thing I’ve ever seen you do” then “must be an exceptionally polite person” and that’s a good thing.

We all have the opportunity to use these little phrases to be observant of the niceties and pleasantries.

Not just saying them because of protocol but bring some Latin American hospitality or servant hospitality into those phrases. Country folk hospitality wherever you are from.

Probably every country and every region in the world has some kind of hospitality tradition. Some tradition of saying this house, space, friendship is sacred.

People deserve to be respected and we can embody that and be one of those good morning folks.
