Your Happy Place
Taking a moment to reflect on a daily activity that is pleasurable for you, you can start to feel different things in your body. When you imagine diving into the ocean, feeling the sun on your body, or stepping inside a sauna, you might notice various things.
Perhaps there is a feeling of warmth, some emotion in your body, a feeling of health in your shoulders, your chest or your belly.
When you get into contact with that feeling, you are always free to return there, at any moment of your day.

I was just thinking about a technique someone showed me yesterday.
I attended a lot of workshops in Acapulco, my friend Arielle set up these events and workshops at Casa Creativa in Bonfil.
I met a woman named Naomi that works with cranial sacral techniques. What she showed us is like a mediation of going to your happy place. Maybe you will remember in that silly movie when Adam Sandler when he plays Happy Gilmore and someone says “happy, go to your happy place”.
And he imagines this sort of festival with a little person riding a horse and slapping his posterior. Well maybe that’s not what your happy place would look like.
But maybe if you have a minute later in the days you can close your eyes and start to experience perhaps a common daily experience. Perhaps something that helps you feel good.
Some of the examples that the attendees thought of…I thought of meditating. Perhaps not the best example because it’s kind of circular. Arielle said eating fruit. Nathan said swimming in the ocean. And Jack said feeling the sun on my body which is a really great one, this imaginary scenario because you have the sun beaming on you.
Maybe imagine that you aren’t wearing a shirt. The sun is coming all over your body and you feel the warmth. You can feel the glint of the sun. Perhaps if your eyes are closed you can feel how sunny it is.
And those sun rays get inside and spread that warmth through your body.
Or you imagine like Arielle eating fruit. The texture the taste, the sweetness of that papaya and the juice on your lips maybe running down your chin and sweetness of the fruit. So fresh and natural and it fills you with this light fresh energy.
You are enjoying that moment of simple pleasure and you might notice something is going on in your body. Perhaps you have a subtle feeling of joy in some part of your body.
Perhaps in shoulders in your chest or solar plexus or sacrum. Behind your naval perhaps. What’s going on in there, a feeling of joy? A feeling of health? A subtle contentment?
What’s going on there, just explore for a moment your own sensations and spirit perhaps. And Naomi pointed out to us that we could return to this, she said we have these resources, these wonderful moments that make up our lives and we can bring those aspects if our lives, experiences of the emotions they provoke. We can bring those to us in any moment if we want to feel calm and happy.
If we wanna experience a better aspect of life to experience a current situation in a different light. We all have that power in our minds to go to our own happy place.
